The real problem with “Democratic messaging” isn’t the messaging

I agree with Bill Palmer that our problem isn’t the messaging. It’s the amplification of the message — getting it heard. Some of it’s the media. A lot of it’s the media. But not all of it.

Thunk about some of our best Democrats. Think about Katie Porter and Cory Booker, and Elizabeth Warren. These are educated and well-spoken people. They have no problem talking about what the message is of the Democratic party.

But we don’t have vicious talk radio as they do. We do not have a soulless echo chamber like Fox non-news. We have the most voices, but they’re not always the LOUDEST voices.

And that is what I want to strive for — being louder. Perhaps even, at some point, being the loudest voices in the room.

I can’t even count how many good things Joe Biden has done for us since he took office, but it gets lost. The message doesn’t get amplified.

It melts away sometimes, lost to the screaming headlines of “Democrats in disarray.”

We simply can’t count on the media. They’re not our friends.

So let’s try to amplify the message in any way possible. We can do this by informing people — by educating them.

Do you personally know any moderates or independents, or people in the middle? Think about who you know and talk to them. And find an issue that they might be passionate about.

For example, do you know people who are passionate about books? Send them articles about what the GOP is doing banning books — and ask them to forward those reports to THEIR friends and family.

Reach out on social media. Reach out to anyone you think might be the least persuasive.

Keep emailing the media.

We HAVE the message — we just need to be the messengers.

We did it successfully before. Do you know how I know this? We won!

You don’t think Biden won because of the media, do you? They said EVERY DAY we were doomed. Same with the Georgia special elections.

We won because of our voices. We won because we were the loudest voices in the room.
