The real key to taking down Ron DeSantis
When it comes to the race for Governor of Florida, all I care about is winning and taking down Ron DeSantis. I’ll endorse whichever Democratic candidate I end up concluding has the best chance of winning.
Nikki Fried has apparently decided that her best shot at winning in Florida is to stand apart from the national Democratic Party on a few issues. That’s her choice. I’ll be watching to see how it impacts her numbers against DeSantis, which is my ultimate criteria.
As you all know, I have my own strong feelings on the issues. But this is about winning. I oppose DeSantis on 100% of the issues, and he’s a corrupt dickhead on top of it. I’ll get behind the Democrat who has the best chance of ousting him, whoever that ends up being.
DeSantis only won by 0.4 points last time, and he’s had a number of ugly scandals since then. He’s highly vulnerable, and he keeps picking the wrong fights. We just need to be smart. I’m going to let these Democratic candidates try to win me over before I pick one. And again, any endorsement will be about winning.
In the meantime, feel free to pick and promote your own favorite Democrat in this race. But I urge you not to destroy any of them during the primary process, because we don’t know who the nominee will be – and we’ll all end up having to strongly get behind the nominee.
