The primary race just completely exploded in Joe Biden’s favor today

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

This morning Palmer Report pointed out that based on new polling out of Michigan, it now appears Joe Biden is set to win three out of the four biggest states that vote next Tuesday. This is important not only to the delegate math, but also in terms of momentum. Now some stunning news out of another state has just changed everything.

Joe Biden has always been expected to outpace Bernie Sanders in Florida. But Mike Bloomberg invested heavily in Florida before dropping out, and Biden was taking a lot of heat nationally when he didn’t do well in the opening states. Now that Biden is surging, just how many delegates can he get out of Florida? The only recent major poll being conducted in the state is from St. Pete Polls. As of today, it has Biden getting an incredible 61% of the Florida vote. It somehow gets even better for him.

This poll – conducted yesterday and released today – still has Bloomberg, Klobuchar, and Buttigieg listed as candidates. It appears that only some respondents were aware that they had dropped out, as they managed to get about 21% of the vote among them. Seeing how Biden picked up most of Pete and Amy’s would-be voters after they dropped out, and Biden is likely to pick up nearly all of Bloomberg’s votes, Biden could actually be closer to (and we can’t believe we’re saying this) eighty percent in Florida. We’re not surprised that Sanders is doing poorly in the state, after partially praising Fidel Castro. But Biden is ahead of him by 49 points, and perhaps closer to 69 points once the other three names are removed from the polls.

Of course this is only one poll, and Palmer Report always preaches that polling averages are far more reliable than individual polls. But this is the only new Florida poll we have to go on, as the other most recent poll in the state (from FAU) was conducted in January. So we’ll wait for other polling outlets to tell us what they’re seeing in Florida, and if it matches up with with these new numbers from St. Pete Polls. But if these numbers are even close to being correct, Biden will gain such a massive delegate haul out of Florida, the math of this primary race would simply explode.
