The poison at the bottom of the well

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

I want to speak about the poison at the bottom of the well. Contrary to what you might think, I’m not referring to Donald Trump or even any of the 2024 Republican candidates. This poison that I refer to has the potential to do great harm. And I would like to send the creators of the poison a message through this article.

These people are the potential moderators of any political debates we have in the future. These people are also pundits and some are members of the media. See, It is important that they ask the right questions.

Have you noticed it? Have you seen that many times there is ZERO follow up on important questions even if those questions get asked at all. So please, Moderators and Pundits — don’t make the mistake you often do. Do not choose to be the poison at the bottom of the well. We want real, high-quality questions. For example:

Republican (insert name here) why did you spend years yammering for states rights in regards to abortion only to suddenly reverse yourselves and try for a national abortion ban?

Republicans — what is your HEALTHCARE plan?

Republicans — and especially Ron DeSantis — why are you banning books like “Sleeping Beauty”, “Of mice and men” and many other books that ARE NOT pornographic in nature?

Why do you appear at times to favor Putin over Ukraine?

What is wokeism? Explain the definition please.

These are the types of questions that we need but we also need followup. For example:

“You didn’t answer the question and we’re not moving on until you do.”

CAN they do it? Are there moderators out there, who will leave the bottom of the well alone, and ask REAL questions? Do they possess the know-how and the skills to do this? Time will tell, I suppose.
