The only thing we have to fear

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

We must win the 2022 midterms. “To the victor go the spoils.” The spoils must be ours. And we are in luck one way. We know precisely how the GOP will run. So, as we head into a new year and the campaigning all over the country starts to ramp up, keep your ears out for one word.

“They’re.” Allow me to explain. Many times, both on television and in reality, when a crime is committed, the REAL criminal blames the crime on a mysterious stranger — or strangers. “They did it,” the criminal insists. “They’re responsible.” Usually, the criminals are lying.

And this strategy exists in politics as well. Allow me to demonstrate a few examples.

“They’re coming to take your guns!!” This “they’re” fantasy has existed for decades. Many still believe it. However, as of 2021, “they’re” hasn’t shown up yet to collect the guns.

“They’re trying to corrupt our children.”

Really? Who is this “they’re”? The teachers? Do you mean the same ones that the GOP used to praise regularly? Could they mean the school principals? The gym teachers, perhaps.

“They’re marching toward our border, and they’re dangerous.”

I imagine you are pretty familiar with this one.

“They’re trying to defund the police.”

Who is? The Democrats certainly are not, as most have said quite vocally that this is a terrible idea.

All of this doesn’t matter to the GOP. Blaming “they’re” for all the world’s troubles has worked for them for so long. Fear sells big time, and fear can also get votes — a lot of votes.

In reality, no such people exist. “They’re” is a fantasy created by frightened little politicians who are on the wrong side of history on just about every issue.

So, their strategy of choice is to instill fear — in the form of mysterious strangers coming from a land far, far away to wreak havoc on our schools, our Borders, and our lives.

Pretty clever, actually. Only this GOP strategy is not going to work this time. We are wise to this them, so we must keep “they’re” illuminated. We must patiently explain that “they’re” does not exist, will never exist, and is a figment of the imagination of insurrectionists.
