The only difference…

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Some Republicans have no shame in showing that they ran for office to “avenge” Donald Trump. Forget about the people, forget the current state of the country, and forget the need to try to calm things down. They revel in amping them up, especially as it relates to Donald Trump. According to Politico, they are moving full steam ahead with the quest to destroy the FBI and the DOJ. How quickly they have forgotten that one of the main players in Trump’s fraud lies was the acting head of the DOJ, Jeffrey Clark. Where was their outrage at DOJ weaponization then? Part of the far-right Republican contingent’s anger at the DOJ involves Hunter Biden and the proffer deal he made with prosecutors.

Hunter Biden isn’t stupid. He knew that he would be looking at time if convicted, and he took the deal. No one can blame him for that. At the same time, Biden was advised by his team of lawyers and one special member of the team, Denver Riggleman. A former Republican representative from Virginia, Riggleman was unseated by an evangelical candidate after he officiated a same-sex marriage. Riggleman refused to fall in line with the election fraud nonsense parroted by the far right and Donald Trump and became a pariah in the process. While Riggleman was a member of the House Freedom Caucus and voted in line with Trump, but things changed for him, and he became a senior technical advisor to the House Select Committee after leaving office.

CBS News reported that Riggleman is an essential part of Biden’s team, as he worked through data related to the case. According to Biden’s counsel, Kevin Morris, Riggleman has been working with the team since last year. Morris called Riggleman “an invaluable resource” who has “made tremendous strides in untangling the massive amount of corruption and disinformation involved in this story,” which Morris promises will become public soon. In other words, Biden’s team is prepping for more investigations into Biden, not from law enforcement but from the far-right contingent in the House.

Part of Riggleman’s job related to the infamous laptop, which has long been a focus of Republicans. According to CBS News, Riggleman has spent months looking for any data that has been distorted or fabricated. In addition, Riggleman is sharing his knowledge of how best to deal with House Republicans and their methods. Since he was once a member, his insight is invaluable to Biden and his legal team, and Riggleman’s role is not lost on President Joe Biden, who invited him and other members of the team to the White House Fourth of July celebration.

Honestly, this is how things should be in Washington. People need to recognize the truth when they see it and proceed according to that truth, regardless of party affiliation. Riggleman appeared on “60 Minutes” last year, where he suggested that the Trump White House should be investigated for its involvement in the January 6 insurrection. That belief led him to become an adviser to the House Select Committee, which ultimately led him to the work he is undertaking for Hunter Biden.
