“The old man’s afraid of prison”

An eternity. Donald Trump, it sometimes feels, has been with us for eternity. His is a never-ending story of drama, complaints, angry outbursts, and — criminality. The story of Donald Trump indeed sometimes feels as if it has always been here. I like to remember the world as it was before this sleazy orange monster descended one escalator one day and changed so many lives with one announcement.

And yet, we can’t go back. But Trump’s never-ending story will at some point end. It will end when he goes to prison. Prison was always going to be the coup de grace for Donald Trump. Such a person as he really belongs nowhere else but in a cell.

And prison is on his mind as more and more people are coming forward to tell us. The latest one, in that regard, is David Jolly. Jolly is a former Congressman of Florida and a frequent guest on MSNBC. He says what we’re witnessing now is really very simple. We are witnessing Jolly says that “the old man’s afraid of prison.”

Jolly added that Trump has the tendency to lash out the most when he is most afraid. This makes sense if one thinks about it. Narcissists’ emotions are frequently expressed in the form of anger and rage — especially something like fear, an emotion no REAL narcissist will EVER want to show.

And Trump basically told us as much. I want to focus on one particular outburst of his, one part of his never-ending story that really does speak to us in terms of Trump’s state of mind.

“It’s hard to have a truly great Christmas,” Trump said on Truth social. “When you have a crooked and incompetent president who wants to put his political opponent in jail.” This small but important post tells us Trump has prison on his mind. These words also came right before his “rot in hell” comments.

“It’s hard to have a truly great Christmas,” Trump wrote. Now, here’s the thing. Trump’s holiday would have sucked even if there were no charges against him. How do I know this? Anyone who knows the narcissist knows they can’t BE happy.

Happiness is their own never-ending story that will forever allude them. Narcissists are always in search of the pot of happiness at the end of the rainbow. They never do find it. They cannot find it because they have no internal levers that can give them the happiness they so desperately seek.

As we approach 2024, it’s important to understand that OUR never-ending story – the Trump story – WILL have an ending. It can’t come soon enough for me. However, the OTHER never-ending story – of one traitor’s search for happiness – will indeed never end. It can’t end because Trump is seeking something that, for him, is impossible to find anywhere.
