The most important moments from tonight’s Democratic debate
Tonight’s Democratic 2020 primary debate saw just several candidates take the stage, out of an original field of roughly twenty. This was the first debate to take place since actual votes started being cast in Iowa this week, but we still have forty-nine states to go. So where did this leave things? Here are the tweets that best summed up tonight’s proceedings – including a fitting one from Michael J. Fox:
.@joebiden is right: “It’s a woman’s right to do that. Period.”

Klobuchar: 'We have a president that literally blames everyone in the world. He blames Barack Obama for everything that goes wrong…he blames the King of Denmark. Who does that?' #DemDebate pic.twitter.com/ZapT9AlkKz

This is when we see @ewarren shine. Her grounding & arc on explaining race analysis across policy areas is strong. It's critical for eventual Dem nominee to do this well, not bc it sounds nice, but bc it's key to building support in confronting systemic racism. #DemDebate
