The Kim Jong Un death watch saga just took a surreal turn

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. When North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un disappeared, and various media outlets began claiming he was ill or dead or braindead, he still failed to surface. Palmer Report pointed out that in such circumstances, he’d definitely want to show his face, if only to ward off any potential overthrowers. So his continued absence meant he was indeed ill or dead, or he’d been ousted, or he’d snapped and he no longer understood that he needed to get his face out there.

Now the Rupert Murdoch-owned British tabloid The Sun, and the pro-Trump tabloid New York Post, are suddenly claiming that Kim Jong Un may be holed up with a “Pleasure Squad” of women. This is quite disturbing, considering there can’t possibly be any legitimate consent involved. It’s also probably false, considering there doesn’t appear to be any real evidence behind the story, and the outlets reporting it are disreputable.

The only reason we’re even flagging this report as being notable is that it very much appears to have been planted by the North Korean government. And really, who else would have planted something like this? The story makes Kim look bad, as it suggests that he’s too busy focused on pleasuring himself to bother showing his face in public and doing his job. But if Kim really is incapacitated or dead, a false story like this is a good way to cover for that.
