The January 6th Committee’s ace in the hole

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

I am looking forward to the start of the January 6 hearings on Thursday night. I hope you are as well. One thing that has intrigued this writer is the production of it all. How is the committee planning on setting things up? And will they get any help?

The look and feel must be authentic. And I’m sure I am not the only one who has been wondering how the committee was planning on showing us the visuals. It turns out the committee will have some help on that department.

James Goldston has been hired and has worked and is working on producing the whole thing.

Goldston has quite a resume. He is the former president of ABC News and has done production work on other shows — high-profile ones such as Night-line. And people are calling the production of the hearings “blockbuster.” He is considered a “master documentary story-teller.” And according to Axios, he is preparing the first hearing “as if it were a blockbuster investigative special.”

It will be a “multi-media production.” Are you getting excited readers? This is welcome news, I’d say. The visuals are going to be so very important. How could they not be? Everything counts. Our senses must be heightened and so I, for one, am very glad that someone with this level of creative experience has been hired.

And it would seem they’re hard at work, doing the work of production. It does sound as if he is the best of the best in this area of expertise.
