The idiot just couldn’t leave Liz Cheney alone
For some time now, Republican Congresswoman Liz Cheney has been sniping at Donald Trump over some of his most idiotic policies and failures. It’s clear that she’s betting Trump will lose in November, and she’s trying to position herself for a leadership position in the post-Trump Republican Party.
Until now, Trump has been simply ignoring Cheney. This was the smart move. Cheney is savvy, ruthless, and she’s a lot smarter than he is. But this week some of Trump’s House Republican allies decided to turn on her in coordinated fashion. Trump would have been smart to simply leave it alone, letting them take their shots at her, without getting involved himself. But Trump isn’t that smart.
This morning Trump finally unleashed on Liz Cheney in histrionic fashion:
Liz Cheney is only upset because I have been actively getting our great and beautiful Country out of the ridiculous and costly Endless Wars. I am also making our so-called allies pay tens of billions of dollars in delinquent military costs. They must, at least, treat us fairly!!!

Trump has made the mistake of putting Liz Cheney in a position where she may no longer feel like it’s enough to keep distancing herself from his policies, and where she might instead decide she has to actively get involved in his downfall in order to reverse her own status. The idiot just couldn’t leave her alone – and now he’s fighting a war on yet another front.
