The heat is on

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Climate experts warned that it might be an extra hot summer, but man, it is hot as hell-at least for Donald Trump. Even as Jack Smith superseded the indictment in the classified documents case, he continued closing in on an indictment for Trump’s election lies. NBC News reported last week that U.S. Marshals met with local law enforcement outside of the D.C. courthouse in preparation for violence and/or protests once Trump is indicted in that case. Rolling Stone reported that Trump privately called election lies “crazy.” This report follows the New York Times report that the Special Counsel’s team has been questioning witnesses about whether Trump acknowledged that he lost the election, which would signal that Trump “was acting with corrupt intent,” and that comment signals that he was, Of course, acting with corrupt intent. Virtually everything Trump does is corrupt.

NBC News reported that the grand jury hearing evidence in the election lies case is meeting again Tuesday, and the Miami court has scheduled an arraignment for Carlos de Oliveira Monday. Trump’s head is likely spinning from all of this. According to the superseding indictment, de Oliveira assisted Walt Nauta in moving boxes, and he and Nauta discussed deleting surveillance video, with de Oliveira asking “Trump Employee 4” how many days the server retained video. CNN smoked out “Trump Employee 4” and identified him as Yuscil Taveras. If Taveras did what de Oliveira and Nauta asked by deleting footage, we will soon see a second superseding indictment; however, it appears more likely that he will be a witness. This case has more twists and turns than a maze. Why Trump and his employees thought these activities would go unnoticed is amazing, but John Bolton has an explanation.

Appearing on CNN, Bolton said that you would think Trump would have learned from other scandals, but “Trump doesn’t learn much very quickly,” Bolton said. Bolton also said what we all already know, and that is that even as the charges pile up, “Trump’s mindset won’t change.” Trump continues to think that rules don’t apply to him. He’ll change his tune real quick once he’s in federal prison. What is almost humorous is the fact that Trump is still spouting “whataboutisms” about everyone else. Of everyone he named in his latest rant, he is the only one who committed a crime. He alludes to President Biden’s “1,000 boxes,” but those are documents from President Biden’s days as a Senator, which CNN are legally stored at the University of Delaware. The Presidential Records Act does not apply to senators, and they are allowed to do with them as they wish-including throwing them away-but President Biden thought the university might find them useful, so he donated them. There is nothing illegal about it.

Donald Trump is nothing but a whiner. He is the model for a new Marvel Comics character: Super Victim. His time would be better spent figuring out how he’s going to defend the multitude of charges Special Counsel Jack Smith has brought against him and how to stay out of federal prison.
