The great Republican meltdown is underway
Unable and unwilling to accept ANY victories made by President Biden, the GOP has lashed out in a fury. Several GOP-led states have sued President Biden over his plan to forgive some student debt.
As you know, Biden had announced his student debt forgiveness program in August. Since then, The GOP has been filled with teeth-clenching rage about this plan. They can’t handle it. They can’t handle ANY policy that helps the American people.
The student loan forgiveness policy has already helped many. I can’t even count the amount of joy I have seen on social media from people who are now, for the first time in YEARS, debt free.
Not if the GOP has anything to say about it. The lawsuit has been filed in the state of Missouri, home to insurrectionist Josh Hawley. Figures. And in this lawsuit, Republicans say that the plan “is not remotely tailored to address the effects of the pandemic on federal student loan borrowers.”
NOW the GOP cares about the coronavirus! Figures. The irony here is huge. The states that are participating in this stunt include Arkansas, Missouri, Kansas, Iowa, South Carolina, and Nebraska. On social media, many were outraged:
“Classic cruelty.”
“The GOP has no empathy.”
” Quite the midterm message!”
“WHAT?”
“Leave it to Republicans.”
“I’m starting to think Republicans are trying to lose the midterms.”
“Now that’s a way to get young people to the polls!”
I agree with all these comments. And if you do as well, be sure and tell ANYONE you know with student debt how hard the GOP is fighting for them. (Sarcasm.) Tell them that if Republicans gain control, they can kiss the loan relief goodbye because the Republican party is the party of taking away. They don’t give one iota about you — or me — or ANYONE.
