The first Republican 2024 primary debate is already shaping up to be a disaster

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Many people are saying that there is little chance that Donald John Trump will miss the first Republican debate coming up next week. That is because, they say, it would kill Donald Trump having to sit at home, watching his rivals discuss him while he’s not there.

That is an excellent point and one that I believe as well. I cannot see Trump not participating in this debate. And I hope he does. I hope he does because he’ll probably say something damaging to himself, maybe confess to a crime or two. Anything is possible.

Terry Sullivan, Marco Rubio’s former campaign manager, predicts a “2%” chance that Trump will miss the debate. “And,” Terry adds, “Half of that involves him choking on a hamburger and having to be rushed to the hospital.”

I dearly hope Trump shows up. This debate is already shaping up to be a trainwreck, and with Donald Trump there, all sorts of luscious things could go wrong. We will find out soon. If you don’t know, this debate date is next week, August 23, airing on Fox non-news and moderated by Bret Bauer and Martha MacCallum.
