The Big Ten
If there is one thing that infuriates me, it is (some) Democrats’ claim that there really isn’t any difference between Biden and Trump, between Democrats and Republicans. That kind of talk is guaranteed to make me flip out. Can people who say this truly believe it? The answer to that question is yes — they can. And it’s poppycock. So in the spirit of voting, I have come up with a list. This list is ten reasons why: why we differ from THEM.
I’d ask that the next time you come up against some smug and self-righteous person repeating the negative talking points, you send them this list:
1) The Democrats are Pro-choice. We believe in the right of women to make their own decision about their own bodies. Vote.
2) We want to STOP gun violence. A vote for us is a vote AGAINST AR-15s. We want to SAVE lives — not take them. Vote.
3) We believe in the right of everybody — every person — to have the ability to cast their vote. We want people to vote — The GOP wants to suppress your vote. Vote.
4) We believe in climate change and take it seriously. Vote.
5) We love Ukraine and its people and want to help them win, in Putin’s war. If the GOP wins, they would likely cut off aid to Ukrain — our Allies and our friends. Vote.
6) We believe in the rights and protections of LGBTQ people. The GOP does not. Vote.
7) We know January 6 was an insurrection. Many in the GOP were AT the January 6 insurrection. Vote.)
8) We believe in doing things to help the American people. The GOP wants to start their term — if they win — by investigating their political enemies like Hunter Biden. Vote.
9) We believe in science. And in masking. The GOP does not. Vote.
10) We believe in Social Security as a right. The GOP wants to decimate it. Ask Lindsey Graham about that. Vote.
I could quickly write 50 more reasons why. The point is — we’re not them — are nothing like them — and anyone saying we are doesn’t know what they’re talking about. Vote.
