The avalanche is officially underway

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Earlier this week Palmer Report said that the avalanche had begun against Donald Trump. Ugly stories about him were beginning to leak out from within his own orbit. The reasons for the leaks were varied, but the trend was unmistakeable: Trump was in the process of being pummeled from within.

Now it’s fair to say that the avalanche against Donald Trump is fully underway. Yes, in this instance Trump did it to himself, allowing himself to be goaded by Bob Woodward into telling the truth during an on-the-record, recorded conversation. But this comes just a few days after someone in Trump’s orbit leaked his attacks on U.S. military troops, and after someone else in Trump’s orbit leaked the seriousness of his Walter Reed health crisis.

We’ll see where this goes. Joe Biden has had a fairly consistent lead of roughly eight points in the national polling averages all along, with roughly seven percent of likely voters still undecided. Will these cascading Trump scandals push more of those undecided voters into Biden’s column? Can he expand his lead? We’ll see.

But the one thing we know for sure is that the bombshells about Donald Trump keep getting more frequent and severe in nature. Trump will be on defense for the rest of the election cycle. This gives us the opportunity to double down on things like voter registration and phone banking, and really run up the score.
