That was just what we needed

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

So much in America has changed for the better since Joe Biden took office, it’s easy to forget that he’s only been President for four weeks. But with so much in America still needing to be fixed, it’s a reminder that our recovery and return to normal is still a very fragile one.

So it was a big deal that on Tuesday night, Biden held a town hall on CNN, facing a series of tough and often heartbreaking questions from Americans who are still looking for a way out of this mess. Biden managed to deliver reasonable, knowledgeable, honest, and heartfelt answers to every question.

Not every one of Biden’s answers will have necessarily left every American satisfied, as tends to happen in a democracy. But the town hall was an hour long reminder that an adult is back in charge again, that a smart and competent person, a good and caring person, is President of the United States. It was just what America needed.
