Thanks Biden!
“Thank you, Joe Biden.” I never tire of uttering those words. There is so much to thank our shining wise-owl of a President for. There are so many things Dark Brandon has done for us. And we have something new to thank President Biden for.
President Biden on Tuesday has a special announcement to make. He is set to sign a proclamation on Tuesday morning honoring Emmett Till as well as Till’s mother. In 1955, Till was abducted and murdered in Mississippi.
And on Tuesday, Biden is set to create the “Emmett Till and Mamie Till -Mobley National Monument.” Tuesday is also Till’s birthday. The document will be “across three sites in Illinois and Mississippi.” So yes, I say thank you, Joe Biden.
Sometimes it doesn’t feel like 2023. Sometimes it feels like we have gone back in time to a horrible time when racism was so prevalent. It feels that way because Donald Trump, his cult members, and all the little Trumpers like Desantis. These peoples’ minds never really left the past. And they have made it difficult, with the filth they have unleashed.
So it is a particularly fragile time in Americana. And this — what our President is doing — is a beautiful gift, not just to Till and his mother, but to the American people as well. It says we will never forget. It honors Till, and all victims of the terrible thing we call racism—just another thing to be grateful to President Biden for.
