What would it take? Dear readers, I’ve often asked myself that question for the last few years. What would it take for people to recognize that America has as their president an American hero and a man whose face deserves to look out at us from Mount Rushmore? You see, this writer believes they have always underestimated him.

President Joe Biden has been getting the job done for years now. Not only did he win his race, but he saved us all—saved us from Donald Trump. Will they ever admit it? I wondered. And the they” I refer to is the media. Because Biden has been, for many of these pundits, a punching bag, some to comment on with scorn and negativity oozing from their voices, someone to pick apart, to take for granted.

What would it take? Why didn’t everyone see the wisdom, I mused. Why did not everyone recognize the kindness, the almost otherworldly humanity, the joy of serving the American people, and being a guiding light for good?

That may have ended. They may have seen it on Thursday. This prisoner swap that everybody talks about is BECAUSE of Joe Biden. BECAUSE OF Kamala Harris. Joe Biden has negotiated the biggest, most electrifying prisoner exchange since the Cold War..

It’s all anyone is talking about. It is all I am talking about. Usually, my friends, I have a one thing I do first when I wake up. I do not put the coffee pot on first thing. I do not cook up some bacon and eggs first thing. What I do is turn on the TV.

And so this is what I did today. What greeted me, what gazed me, were familiar faces we did not know that we’d ever see again.

Paul Whelan — welcome back.

Evan Gershkovich – welcome back.

Vladimir Kara-Murza — welcome back.

Also, Kurmasheva — welcome back.

We welcome you back with tenderness; our cup of joy runneth over for you and for your families.

Joe Biden. What would it take? Joe is a man who has consistently been underestimated. This November, we shall elect a new president—an effervescent, free- spirited, sparkling LOTUS—LOTUS for POTUS.

In the meantime, might we take a few minutes for the president we have now? Might we take a few minutes to recognize, to celebrate, the beauty, the determination, the hard work and the “leave no prisoner behind” mentality of a man named Joe?

With a twinkle in his eyes and a smile that could melt ice glaziers, this president has once again pulled off what many said could never happen.
