Texas AG Ken Paxton, ringleader behind Donald Trump’s election suit, subpoenaed by FBI

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Donald Trump’s final election lawsuit, originated by Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, has literally zero chance of succeeding. It’s basically written in crayon, and Paxton clearly only originated it in the hope of getting on the good side of Donald Trump, from whom he needs a federal pardon.

Even as various Republicans sign onto the suit specifically because they know it has no chance of succeeding, it turns out the walls are closing in on Paxton himself. The Austin American-Statesman newspaper is reporting today that the FBI hit Paxton with a subpoena yesterday in the ongoing criminal case against him.

This is a big deal because it shows just how deep and imminent Ken Paxton’s legal troubles are, and how badly he needs Donald Trump to preemptively pardon him. It also serves to underscore what a farce this lawsuit is, and the fact that Paxton only filed it because he needed to get on Trump’s good side, and not because he has any expectation that it’ll actually go anywhere.
