Ten point shift!
Immediately after the Supreme Court shamefully, unconstitutionally, and psychotically struck down Roe v. Wade, instant polling suggested that it would meaningfully boost the Democrats’ odds of winning the midterms. Since that time the Democrats have scored major victories in other areas.
Now, three weeks after the Supreme Court shockwave, the polling averages and statistical analysis are indeed pointing to the Democrats’ midterm prospects having greatly improved. In fact the Democrats’ odds of winning the House have climbed by a whopping ten points over the past three weeks, according to FiveThirtyEight’s analysis.
Of course elections don’t win themselves. The Democrats still face significant hurdles when it comes to keeping the House, from voter suppression to gerrymandering. That’s where you come in. Yes, you, the person reading this. With just about eighty days remaining until the midterms, now is the time for you to focus on donating, phone banking, doing remote volunteer work, voter registration, and voter outreach – and you have to do it in the specific House races that are actually competitive.
The good news is we’ve done the work and narrowed down the list significantly. Below you’ll find the 10% of Democratic House candidates who are running in the most highly competitive races – many of which will be decided by as little as one point. Go to each of these websites and sign up to help, so the campaigns can inform you of how best to get involved. If we don’t want a Republican House staring us in the face in the new year, we must put in the work now for these Democratic House candidates:
