Tempting fate

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Do you believe in fate? Do you believe that one’s destiny is written in the stars from the time one is born? I believe, my friends, that one always can CHANGE one’s fate and that free will exists and can be found all around us.

Though one might THINK they are designed for one specific outcome, one can also free oneself of this, with hard work and effort. However, some choose to do something other than work hard. Some decide to tempt fate.

Tempting fate is never a good idea. Tempting fate means: “To do something that one knows is dangerous or likely to have a negative outcome.”

The reason Republicans have been losing virtually every important election these last few years, is because they cannot stop tempting fate. Temptations are the low-hanging fruit that dare many to take a bite. Tempting fate can be heard in the whispers of trees rustling outside one’s window.

It’s the job of political campaigns to DO NO HARM. However, the GOP appears to have a new message. That message is: who cares? See, the GOP has not stopped tempting fate since Trump came down that escalator. Now, anyone sane would have recognized him as an interloper, someone who stands apart from America’s morals and values.

But not the GOP. They tempted fate, running freely toward the temptation, embracing him, making him their own, and since that day, they have seen their own fortunes shrivel up and die. And still, they can’t stop.

Time marches on. Seasons change. The GOP still tempts fate. Perhaps they will go on forever, lost sailors at sea, calling out for imminent rescue, for people to listen to them,

Their solution is so easy. For example, When one is a sinking ship, one gets OFF THE BOAT. In that way, they have stopped the tempting of fate. In the GOP’s case, that sinking boat ins Donald John Trump.

But contrary to getting OFF the sinking ship, the GOP is encouraging it voraciously to sink, sink, sink.

Self-sabotage is a particular favorite tactic for tempting fate. The GOP has been willing pupils of this kind of temptation, studying it as their ability to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory has hastened their hurricane, which has brought about their political demise and reduced them to the butt of every joke.

All these headlines you see about the GOP panic?

All the constant mistakes you see by the Trump campaign?

All the news pouring in, with a new story seemingly every HOUR?

All the long and gloomy faces of Republican losers that you see?

This is ALL the result of tempting fate.

Fate is a worthy opponent, and as one can tell by her tinkling laughter, laughter the GOP must certainly be aware of but are now helpless to prevent, temptation keeps winning in her battles with the GOP — over and over and over and over again…
