Ted Lieu just destroyed Marjorie Taylor Greene
Marjorie Taylor Greene, one of the most unfit people elected to the House of Representatives in some time, has already been stripped of her House committee assignments. This has largely made her irrelevant. Now she’s apparently decided to spend her time wasting everyone else’s time, with random motions from the floor.
Let’s just say that Congressman Ted Lieu wasn’t having any of it. He posted this tweet in response to Greene’s stunt today: “Congratulations on making your first random motion to adjourn! Can you feel the power? You get to force all Members to show up on the floor. The downside of course is that it’s a waste of time and taxpayers money for us to vote on stupid, nonsensical motions.”
It’s a reminder that we need to find a way to vote far right freaks like Marjorie Taylor Greene out of Congress in 2022. Removing her from committees was the strongest action that House Democrats were allowed to do without Republican support. House Republicans are still refusing to provide enough votes to expel her. So it’ll come down to the voting public.
