Congressman Ted Lieu slam dunks Jared Kushner

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Donald Trump’s son-in-law has spent the past year-plus working with sensitive classified information in the White House despite not having a permanent security clearance. Kushner apparently can’t pass a background check because he met with the Russian Ambassador and then the head of a Russian bank during the transition period, and then lied about it on his security clearance forms. He’s facing new scrutiny now that the Trump White House security clearance scandal is exploding.

According to a new article from the New York Times, White House Chief of Staff John Kelly is trying to make the security clearance scandal go away by cracking down on everyone who can’t get clearance, including Kushner (link). This led Democratic Congressman Ted Lieu, who has been going hard after Donald Trump from day one, to go after Kushner.

Ted Lieu posted the NYT article on his Twitter account and added his own commentary: “Today is Tuesday. That means we all need to ask again: Why does Jared Kushner still have a security clearance? Also, why won’t he answer the simple yes/no question from Members of Congress on whether he talked to any foreign nationals about the troubled loan for 666 Fifth Ave?”

Jared Kushner may have bigger problems than his current face-off with John Kelly. It’s recently been reported that Special Counsel Robert Mueller is specifically targeting Kushner for overseas loans he received that appear to have come as a result of his secret meetings with the Russians. This comes even as Mueller is moving in on Donald Trump, and it’s fairly clear that Mueller is looking to force Kushner into cutting a plea deal against Trump.
