Ted Lieu drops the hammer
It’s not just that so many House Republicans are quitting at the end of the term. It’s that so many of them in far right districts where they’re in no danger of losing reelection, so many of them aren’t of retirement age, and so many of them are powerful committee chairs.
House Democrat Ted Lieu summed it up perfectly:
Actions speak louder than words. Committee Chairs have significant influence in Congress. Yet three GOP Chairs recently announced their retirements.
Why? Because the Republican caucus is dysfunctional, chaotic and mean. Also, they know the do nothing GOP will lose the majority. https://t.co/7i2QiOfA7O
