Ted Cruz has crying meltdown on Senate floor

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Even with the Republican Party having reached an all time level of disgustingness overall, Republican Senator Ted Cruz keeps finding a way to stay ahead of the curve in the disgusting department – and no, we’re not talking about his ridiculous new beard. Cruz, who has never demonstrated any legitimate human emotions, pretended to be on the verge of tears today while giving a Senate floor speech in defense of Donald Trump. Then things got ugly.

Ted Cruz falsely blamed the Democrats for Donald Trump’s government shutdown, and then also falsely accused the Democrats of only doing it because they “hate Donald Trump.” Yes, Cruz is right that mainstream Americans want Trump gone from office, and they want him gone right this minute. But that’s because he’s a psychotic monster who committed treason against the United States and wasn’t even elected to the office he’s illegally holding. Cruz’s speech faced immediate blowback from the Senate floor.

Democratic Senator Michael Bennet, who has often sought bipartisan compromises on various issues, was having none of it today. Bennet took to the Senate floor after Ted Cruz and promptly slammed him: “I have worked very hard over the years to work in a bipartisan way with the presiding officer with my Republican colleagues, but these crocodile tears that the senator from Texas is crying for first responders are too hard for me to take.”

Senator Bennet then appeared on MSNBC and laid into Ted Cruz and Donald Trump even more thoroughly. Trump and his Republican Party are so flagrantly and harmfully out of control, even the usually affable Bennet is ready to take a proverbial flamethrower to the entire Trump treason brigade. Trump’s government shutdown, and the GOP’s complicity in it, are taking America to the brink – and there is no possible way Trump can win the battle.
