Ted Cruz just found a whole new way to humiliate himself

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

– After retired CIA Director John Brennan tweeted his personal opinion about the apparent assassination of an Iranian nuclear scientist, Ted Cruz saw it as an opportunity to accuse Brennan of violating the Logan Act. The thing is, the Logan Act doesn’t work that way, as Brennan ended up explaining in a detailed thread. Ted Cruz just keeps finding new ways to humiliate himself.

– When Joe Biden was first declared the winner, the media told us that it was our responsibility to make nice with Trump voters, even though they’d voted for a racist criminal who had just murdered a quarter million Americans. Now that so many Trump voters are insisting Trump won, and rooting for the ugliest transition period possible, I’ve decided we’re off the hook for making nice with them. If and when they decide they want to give up the ghost of Trump and join America again, we can talk. Until then, they don’t get a voice in our democracy.

– Donald Trump is due for another Twitter meltdown any minute now. I might mock him for it or I might ignore it, depending on how stupid it is. But it’s nice that I no longer have to care about his tweets one way or the other. Trump is at our mercy now.
