Rudy Giuliani goes off the deep end with “TDD” meltdown

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Donald Trump is still insisting that everything is going great for him and his administration, even as he faces the first two of what will be dozens of felony accusations, and tries to explain the fact that he somehow lost his second White House Chief of Staff in twenty-four hours. But his criminal defense attorney Rudy Giuliani is painting a much different picture.

We’re not quite sure what to make of Rudy’s latest Twitter debacle, but we’ll try to parse it anyway, because he may have given some things away here, beyond the fact that his space bar is clearly still malfunctioning: “No collusion, no obstruction now campaign finance but payments to settle lawsuits are not clearly a proper campaign contribution or expenditure. No responsible lawyer would charge a debatable campaign finance violation as a crime…well maybe those suffering from TDD.”

Okay, let’s see. Rudy Giuliani has decided that there’s “no collusion” even though Friday’s sentencing memos make clear that there was collusion. He’s also decided that there was “no obstruction” just because he doesn’t want there to have been any. But then we get to the part where Rudy tries to explain away Donald Trump’s felony campaign finance violations by insisting they were payments to settle lawsuits, which they absolutely were not, and opines that they were “not clearly” a crime. So now Rudy’s latest fallback line of defense is that Trump might not have committed felonies, and he’s not sure? It gets weirder.

Michael Cohen has already pleaded guilty to felony charges for making these two payoffs at Donald Trump’s instruction, and the federal judge in question decided to accept Cohen’s plea. So much for the notion that these are somehow reckless or questionable charges. So this is legal gibberish. But then we get to the actual gibberish.

Rudy Giuliani suggests that the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York is suffering from “TDD.” We think he’s trying to refer to “TDS” – short for Trump Derangement Syndrome – a propaganda phrase that Donald Trump’s supporters hurl at anyone on social media who dares to use facts or evidence while pointing out Trump’s status as a felon and traitor. We don’t know what “TDD” would stand for, but if Rudy has it, we’re pretty sure one of the D’s stands for “Dementia.”
