SWING AND MISS
Over the weekend Donald Trump had a hundred-plus tweet meltdown, most of it involving a deranged and incoherent conspiracy theory involving President Obama. Trump loves to take these kinds of shots from a distance. But when he was asked about it during his press conference today, Trump ended up swinging and missing.
Donald Trump was asked today what supposed crime he’s specifically accusing President Obama of having committed. Trump’s answer: “Some terrible things happened.” When pushed further, Trump said “You know what the crime is, the crime is very obvious to everybody.”
Actually, no, it’s not. More than a hundred tweets later, there isn’t anyone who has any idea what Trump is trying to accuse President Obama of having done. When Trump was standing on a stage today with the opportunity to spell it out in front of the cameras, he wasn’t willing to go there. This whole thing is a swing and miss for Trump.
Donald Trump is making a mistake by picking a fight with someone as popular as Obama, and he clearly doesn’t even have a strategy for what he wants that fight to be.
