When Susan Collins voted to confirm mentally unstable serial sexual assaulter Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court, and then voted to acquit psychotic traitor Donald Trump in his impeachment trial, she bet her career on the premise that these moves would end up working out in her favor.

The Bangor Daily News, a leading newspaper in Maine, is reporting that the coronavirus crisis has boosted the approval rating of the state’s Democratic Governor Janet Mills, who has handled the crisis well. But in that same timeframe, Susan Collins has seen her approval rating in Maine fall all the way into the thirties. This is presumably because Mainers are increasingly resentful of Collins for her disastrous decision to leave Trump in power.

Susan Collins is being challenged in November by Democratic candidate Sara Gideon, a popular figure in Maine. Recent polls have pointed to the race being close or tied. If Susan Collins’ approval rating continues to fall, it’ll continue to boost Gideon’s prospects.
