Susan Collins is having a really bad day

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Donald Trump has made yet another criminally corrupt move by firing the State Department Inspector General who was investigating Secretary of State Mike Pompeo. That means Republican Senator Susan Collins is once again voicing empty “concern” while doing nothing about it. People are noticing.

Susan Collins tweeted this: “I have long been a strong advocate for the Inspectors General. They are vital partners in Congress’s effort to identify inefficient or ineffective government programs and to root out fraud and other wrongdoing. She added: “The President has not provided the kind of justification for the removal of IG Linick required by this law.”

Sure, this would be great, if anyone trusted Collins to actually do anything about it. But based on her past history, we all know she won’t. This was evidenced by the fact that Collins’ tweets only got four thousand likes while getting fourteen thousand negative comments. Suffice it to say that Collins is having a bad day, because people are on to her antics.

Fortunately, Susan Collins is up for reelection this year, and she’s facing a competitive challenge from respected Democratic candidate Sara Gideon.
