Susan Collins is concerned [UPDATED]

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

UPDATE: Susan Collins has announced she’s voting for Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson. Original article follows.

You will never believe it. This is shocking news — utterly shocking. Susan Collins is concerned. Sigh. Collins is said to be scheduled to have a second conversation with Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson. This is because Collins has some concerns she wants to address.

It will be a phone conversation. “I plan to have a telephone call with Judge Jackson this week,” the concerned Mainer explained. “At this point, over the weekend, I had the opportunity to go through all of the excerpts from the hearing, which was very helpful, and I have a few questions,” the perpetually concerned Collins went on.

Many are speculating that Collins is desperately looking for a way — any possible way – to get out of voting for Judge Jackson. She might be doing that because Turtle McConnell has announced he is a no. And Collins, despite her frantic attempts to convince folks she is an independent voice, is anything but.

In reality, Collins is a fake. Her facade is a carefully honed mask. Her thoughts are all over the place, always scheming how she might come out looking good.

Interestingly, Collins did not seem to have such concerns over Brett Kavanaugh. In fact, one remembers well her defiant and miserable speech on the Senate floor, where she cooed over Kavanaugh and excoriated Democrats for no reason at all.

However, we do not need the vote of Collins or any republican. We have what we need. Collins, though she seemingly pines to be relevant is not very important for this vote. I find Collins and her concern a perpetual headache, but since the woman won her seat, we are stuck with her for now.
