Surrender Donald

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

This morning I pointed out that by announcing he won’t do any more debates, Donald Trump is essentially waving the white flag. He’s falling further behind in the polls with no viable plan for turning things around. If he did another debate and won it, that would help him a lot. But he knows, or at least his babysitters know, that he would lose another debate as badly as he lost this one. Trump is, after all, consistently displaying symptoms consistent with severe dementia.

So what is Trump going to do? Is he really just going to spend the final fifty days of his election babbling about nonsense at occasional rallies, let the clock run down, lose, and go to prison? It looks like it. Why would he sit back and let this happen? The answer likely comes back to the fact that he doesn’t really know what’s going on anymore.

If you’ve had to deal with someone who has advanced dementia, you know that their beliefs and reality shift by the hour. You also know that as stubborn as they can be, you can find ways to convince them of just about anything if you have to. And so Trump’s handlers have probably convinced him that he won the debate, that he’s winning the election, that he doesn’t need another debate, and that he should just keep going around having fun talking about sharks. There’s nothing that Trump’s babysitters can do to help him win. All they can do is keep him sated.

Meanwhile, Trump’s people now have him launching his own cryptocurrency. This is hilarious, given that Trump obviously has absolutely no idea what crypto even is. Yet here he is, launching a bizarre crypto money making scheme, with just fifty-something days left in an election that costs him everything if he loses. Because that’s all there is left for Trump to do. It’s all that the people around him can think to have him do. We’re talking about a non-functioning candidate who thinks people are eating dogs. There is nothing else he can do in this election.

And so we’re watching Trump engage in his own deranged version of surrender. He’s just going to keep doing the same senile, stupid, losing things, and tell himself it’s working and he’s winning. Meanwhile we’ll be over here working to run up the score and leave no doubt about his loss.
