Surprise witness David Holmes just dropped a house on Donald Trump

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

When televised impeachment hearings first began on Wednesday, no one even knew that a guy named David Holmes was going to end up being involved. But when Bill Taylor testified that one of his staffers had overheard a crucial phone conversation between Donald Trump and Gordon Sondland, and the House then announced that Holmes would be testifying behind closed doors, it became clear that fireworks were about to be involved.

Sure enough, after Ambassador Marie Yovanovitch testified in public today, David Holmes testified behind closed doors. Manu Raju of CNN has obtained Holmes’ opening statement, and it’s a doozy.

Holmes says that he was with Gordon Sondland and multiple other people in a restaurant when Sondland took a phone call from Donald Trump. Trump was talking so loudly into the phone, everyone at the table could hear what he was saying. The phone conversation made clear to Holmes that something wasn’t right. After the call ended, Holmes asked Sondland if Trump even cared about the fate of Ukraine. Sondland responded by listing off the things that Trump did care about, such as the fake Biden scandal.

This is devastating to Donald Trump for a few reasons. David Holmes is a first hand witness who heard Donald Trump admit he had corrupt intentions toward Ukraine. He’ll likely testify in front of the cameras next week. Others who heard the phone call can corroborate his testimony. This also means that when Gordon Sondland publicly testifies next week, he’ll have to spell out the details of the incriminating phone call if he wants any hope of beating the perjury rap.
