Donald Trump’s Surgeon General Jerome Adams throws up his hands
United States Surgeon General Jerome Adams is the latest public official to act the fool for Donald Trump and ruin his own reputation in the process. Earlier this month we saw Adams utterly humiliate himself during a cringe-worthy press briefing performance. But now even Adams seems to have had enough.
After Donald Trump suggested having everyone ingest disinfectant to fight coronavirus – a move that would simply kill everyone involved – Jerome Adams is now urging everyone not to take medical advice from non-doctors:
A reminder to all Americans- PLEASE always talk to your health provider first before administering any treatment/ medication to yourself or a loved one.
Your safety is paramount, and doctors and nurses are have years of training to recommend what’s safe and effective.

.
The timing of Adams’ tweet makes pretty clear that he’s trying to push back against Donald Trump’s failed attempt at playing doctor. Interestingly, about half an hour after Adams’ tweet, he added this statement from the White House Press Secretary: “President Trump has repeatedly said that Americans should consult with medical doctors regarding coronavirus treatment.” Uh, nice try.
