Stupidity knows no bounds

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Stupidity knows no bounds, especially Donald Trump’s stupidity. The funny thing is that he’s always calling others “stupid” or “dumb.” Has he looked in the mirror lately? He’s obviously talking about himself. He slurred and dazed through his 2-hour interview with Elon Musk and basically did nothing to advance his case to be president of the United States. While the rest of us are concerned by global warming, Trump is more concerned with “nuclear warming” whatever the hell that is. At one point when discussing Kamala Harris’s Time cover, he said: “She looks like the most beautiful actress to ever live. It was a drawing, and actually, she looked very much like a great first lady, Melania.” Seriously? These are the things that a man vying for the highest office in the country has to say. Harris’s campaign pointed out his stupidity in its response to his interview. “Trump’s entire campaign is in service of people like Elon Musk and himself-self-obsessed rich guys who will sell out the middle class and who cannot run a livestream in the year 2024.” But enough about Trump. We all know he’s insane. Hopefully, some others in the country will wake up before November 5, which continues to go well for Kamala Harris.

Nate Silver reported from MSNBC, where he made an appearance. According to his calculations, Harris is now favored to sweep the “Midwestern Blue Wall” states (Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, and Michigan) and to carry Nevada. He reiterated that he deals in data and that they have seen Harris “rising consistently” in nationwide polls. The host asked what Silver attributes the change to, and Silver said: “Donald Trump is not a very popular candidate. He lost the national vote twice and the Electoral College the last time.” Silver believes that Harris is actually “overperforming,” which means we can’t see in the polls how well she is really doing. He showed a sampling of the New York Times/Siena College poll, which shows Harris at 50% and Trump at 46% in all three states. He also shows a slight lead for Trump in North Carolina and Georgia, but something changed in Nevada. Silver said that Nevada now slightly leans Harris. Nevada is very working-class state while also being very diverse, including Asian American, Black, and Hispanic working-class voters. They are the same group that was moving away from President Biden, and the change in polling is “dramatic.” He said it was plus six Trump and is now plus one or two for Harris, and it could well be more on other polls. In less than one month, Silver said that Democrats have more than doubled their chances of winning. Harris and Walz have people hyped.

Time magazine put Kamala Harris on it’s cover and credited Harris with “pulling off the swiftest vibe shift in modern political history.” The story is entitled “The Reintroduction of Kamala Harris,” with the subtitle “Her Moment.” It is her moment-her moment to shine, her moment to give hope, and her moment to become the first female president who also happens to be Black and Asian-American. How far we have come in such a short time, and we’re not done.
