Donald Trump has been stunned into silence
When Donald Trump’s former campaign manager and current lost soul Corey Lewandowski first began testifying before the House Judiciary Committee today, Donald Trump made a point of tweeting how “beautiful” it was. Trump was flaunting the fact that he’d told Lewandowski precisely what propaganda and lies to go in there and say. But then, as the hearing went on, something happened.
Several hours into it, Corey Lewandowski seemed to run out of prepared horse crap to spew. He began saying things that hurt Donald Trump. By the time the professional counsel took over the questioning, Lewandowski was making a complete mess of things for Trump. So what did Trump have to say about that?
Well, nothing. Lewandowski’s testimony has now been over for several hours, and Donald Trump now has nothing to say about it at all. Even he can’t seem to figure out how to spin this disaster in his favor. Yes, Trump had a fundraiser to attend this evening. But that didn’t stop Trump from finding time to post a tweet attacking the New York Times over the Kavanaugh scandal, and a tweet which saw him quasi-feuding with his pal Lindsey Graham over Iran.
The point is that Donald Trump clearly did not expect today’s Corey Lewandowski hearing to go the way that it did. Trump could have simply told Lewandowski to refuse to show up, just as Trump told today’s other two witnesses not to show up. Trump rolled the dice that Lewandowski could go in there and win the day for Team Trump. Instead, Lewandowski got mauled so badly, Trump is now resorting to pretending it didn’t even happen.
