Donald Trump is stuck in limbo, and it’s driving him absolutely bonkers

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Today is the Friday before Christmas, and all through the Capitol, not a House member is present. The House and Senate stand in recess until January 7. President Donald Trump has received a whole lot of anticipation, making him wait. The House passed two articles of impeachment this week, causing some such as George Conway to come up with the new label for Trump: #IMPOTUS, as in impotent. According to Senator Lindsey Graham, Trump has expressed anger and wants his “day in court.” But Speaker Nancy Pelosi has once again masterfully dealt with Trump, with Congress in recess.

Trump is left to stew and ponder what awaits him in the early part of January 2020. The Tweeter-in-Chief, or Tic, appears to be a wee bit rattled this morning. While touting his defense bill that he will sign, he tweeted: “I will be signing our 738 Billion Dollar Defense Spending Bill today. It will include 12 weeks Paid Parental Leave, gives our troops a raise, importantly creates the SPACE FORCE, SOUTHERN BORDER WALL FUNDING, repeals “Cadillac Tax” on Health Plans, raises smocking age to 21! BIG”

Youngsters who are putting art smocks on to do holiday decorations, beware. According to Trump, you might be violating the law by doing so. Same for any cashiers at stores where you must wear a smock. Proceed cautiously. Trump also attacked Christianity Today, a conservative evangelical magazine, but said he would stop reading “ET” instead. As a reminder, CT was started by Billy Graham and I don’t recall Trump or anyone else on the right attacking the publication in 1999 for arguing that President Bill Clinton should be removed.

The next few weeks should be interesting, as Donald Trump is in this limbo of being impeached (the Constitution says only that the House has the power of impeachment, and they exercised said power) but having no idea when he will have a Senate trial. Happy New Year, IMPOTUS.
