Somebody get Donald Trump a straitjacket
At one point during his press briefing today, Donald Trump momentarily appeared to be trying to declare himself Emperor when he asserted that the President of the United States has absolute power over the governors and the states. Then, in the next breath, Trump asserted that the governors are in fact responsible for getting their states through this crisis, not him.
I’ve seen Kim Jong-Un make statements that were less mentally incompetent than this. Donald Trump’s performance today was more in line with how Saddam Hussein reacted when they pulled him out of that hole in the ground he’d been hiding in. Trump was completely hallucinatory, totally unaware of his situation. He was alternating between delusionally trying to seize power that he’s in no position to seize, and making excuses for why he doesn’t want to seize power.
Donald Trump no longer has the mental capacity to even so much as walk down the street without supervision, let alone run the country. He’s that far gone. Somebody get Donald Trump a straitjacket. The time has come.
