Donald Trump goes silent in public, goes berserk about Stormy Daniels behind the scenes

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

In what counts as a rare development, Donald Trump didn’t tweet anything this morning. The only thing he’s tweeted all day was an announcement this afternoon about a memorial, which he clearly didn’t write. Since the Stormy Daniels interview aired, Trump has tweeted very little, and we’re not sure any of it’s actually come from him. He hasn’t made any official public remarks in the past five days. Stormy clearly has him afraid to say anything publicly. Behind the scenes it’s a different matter.

As Palmer Report has previously pointed out, even the tweets posted on Trump’s account the morning after the Stormy Daniels interview don’t appear to have been written by him; they include words and phrasing that don’t sound at all like him. So he’s said basically nothing since the interview, and his handlers appear to be worried enough about his absence to ghost-tweet for him. But behind closed doors, various reports paint a picture of Trump frantically obsessively denying the affair with Daniels to anyone around him who will listen.

Trump keeps telling associates that his affair with Daniels is a “hoax” and that she’s not the kind of woman he finds attractive, according to a Washington Post report. This sounds like classic Trump projection, after Daniels stated in her interview that she didn’t find Trump attractive when she slept with him, and that she merely saw it as a career opportunity. This means Trump really is as obsessed with the Daniels story as we’ve come to expect.

In turn, this means that Donald Trump’s uncharacteristic silence this week is indeed a result of his obsession with the Stormy Daniels saga. Here’s the truly enlightening part. Daniels has accused Trump of serious criminal acts including having a goon threaten her with physical harm. Trump also apparently violated campaign finance laws when he had Michael Cohen pay her off just before election day. These are felonies that could potentially send Trump to prison. Yet his obsession is with denying that the affair took place, not denying the serious related crimes he’s been accused of. As usual, he’s focused on the wrong thing.
