Donald Trump still can’t answer the question

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

When Donald Trump held a press conference and was asked if he took responsibility for his own handling of the coronavirus crisis, he said “I don’t take responsibility at all.” Those words quickly became infamous, as it underlined everything that’s wrong with this guy’s failed presidency.

Today, Trump tried to give himself yet another do-over by holding yet another coronavirus press conference. This time around he sounded genuinely scared. He’s too sociopathic to care what happens to the country and the people in it. But he does now appear to be worried that his poor handling of this crisis will cost him whatever remote shot at reelection he might have had left. The thing is, he still can’t answer the question.

Trump was asked again today if he takes responsibility for the coronavirus crisis. His nearly incoherent answer was “Yeah, normally. But I think when you hear, you know, this has never been done before in this country.” Okay, so that’s all we need to know. He’s not going to take responsibility for any of this. He’s checked out entirely when it comes to his presidency. It’s time for him to resign.
