The Lincoln Project’s Steve Schmidt slam dunks Donald Trump
Donald Trump isn’t just taking himself down right now, he’s in danger of taking down the Republican Senate by association. Senator Marsha Blackburn keeps making more of a fool of herself by the day while trying to prop Trump up, and the Lincoln Project’s Steve Schmidt recently called her out for it.
This set off an odd chain of events in which former cable news punchline Greta Van Susteren accused Steve Schmidt of being “rude” to Blackburn. Then this morning an increasingly manic Donald Trump quoted Van Susteren and tweeted this about Schmidt: “Because I’ve beaten him and his very few remaining clients so much, and so badly, that he has become a blathering idiot. He failed with John McCain and will fail again with all others. He is a total loser. @MarshaBlackburn is a Tennessee Star, a highly respected WINNER!”
But suffice it to say that Steve Schmidt got in the last word when he tweeted this back at Trump: “You’ve never beaten me at anything. This is our first dance. Donald Trump. Did you like #covita. @ProjectLincoln @TheRickWilson @stuartpstevens @reedgalen. We are so much better at this than your team of crooks, wife beaters, degenerates,weirdos and losers. You are losing 1.”
Schmidt then piled on: “Are the steroids wearing off? Is the Euphoria fading? Do you feel foggy? Tired? Do you ache? How is the breathing? Hmmm. Are you watching TV today Donald Trump. We will have some nice surprises for you. Everyone is laughing at you. You are a joke. A splendid moron turned deadly clown.”
