Elizabeth Warren just destroyed Steve Mnuchin

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin, having recently lost a public feud with Guns N’ Roses singer Axl Rose, had to testify to the Senate today about the corporate slush fund he’s been trying to keep the rest of the government from overseeing. Suffice it to say that it didn’t go well for Mnuchin.

Joe Biden summed it up this way: “During today’s Senate Banking Committee hearing, Secretary Steven Mnuchin refused to require corporations benefiting from $500 billion in CARES Act funds to keep workers on their payrolls. Elizabeth Warren asked him several times, each time he ducked and refused. That’s exactly why Elizabeth Warren and I have called for more oversight. We need more conditions on corporations to ensure relief goes to their workers, not their CEOs. No $500 billion slush fund. No blank checks. The Trump Administration is prioritizing big corporations over workers.”

Right about now, Steve Mnuchin is probably wishing he was still getting dunked on by Axl Rose. Meanwhile, Axl Rose has been keeping himself busy by retweeting Joe Biden.
