Racist republican Steve King loses his House seat
Of all the cowardly, corrupt and complicit Republicans in the House, Steve King of Iowa might be the most awful among them. He’s such a blatant white supremacist racist, even the House GOP temporarily removed him from his committee assignments before reinstating him. But now that will no longer matter, because King just lost his seat.
Steve King was defeated in tonight’s Republican primary contest, meaning he will not be on the general election ballot in November, meaning he’s losing his seat. When the new House term begins in January, King will no longer be in it. This is great news, considering how truly terrible King was. That said, it’s only half the battle in flipping his seat.
Steve King lost the Republican primary race tonight to another Republican candidate who’s nearly as awful as he is. That Republican candidate will face Democratic candidate J.D. Scholten in the general election in November, in what will be a heavily contested race and likely a close result. You can follow J.D. Scholten here.
