Donald Trump and Steve Bannon are a thing again, and it’s uglier than ever
“They’re going to impeach him.” Certainly that is what a vast majority of the world hopes will indeed happen to Donald Trump. However, this statement was made by an associate of Steve Bannon, the former chief executive of Trump’s campaign and former chief strategist and senior counsel to Trump. Even if Special Counsel Robert Mueller has already indicted Trump for his multitude of crimes, including treason and conspiracy against the United States, when Democrats take control of the House following the midterm elections it is important that they impeach Trump.
After being fired from his job in the White House, it appears Bannon is working to get back into Trump’s good graces. Following his comments that led to his demise, including the prediction that Trump’s son Don Jr. would “crack like an egg” to Mueller’s investigation, Bannon is set to announce the rollout of a nonprofit intended to rile up Trump’s base and avoid his coming impeachment.
Along with Bannon, Sam Nunberg is working to raise money to “educate the public.” As some may recall, Nunberg is the longtime protégé of Roger Stone who went on every cable news channel to state he would defy Mueller’s subpoena to testify, before walking back everything he previously said and actually testifying.
Ever since Michael Wolff’s book Fire and Fury came out, revealing that Bannon considers the June 2016 Trump Tower meeting between the Donald Trump campaign and agents of the Kremlin as “treason,” Bannon has been doing anything he can to repair the damage inflicted. This is clearly a ploy by Bannon and Nunberg to return to their prior approval by Trump. As evidenced by Trump’s recent unhinged tweetstorms, he is extremely worried about the Mueller investigation, so this is Bannon’s best chance at appeasing his former boss. The reality is simple – no matter how many former Trump supporters set up fundraisers, he is still going to be removed from office and sent to prison.
