Sarah Huckabee Sanders has been replaced by Stephanie Grisham and she’s horrible too
White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders is officially resigning at the end of this month. Considering that she stopped doing the job about six months ago, and Donald Trump clearly didn’t care that her press briefings all but ceased to take place, you’d think Trump wouldn’t be in a hurry to replace her. As it turns out, Trump is already replacing the horrible Sanders with someone new, who is also horrible.
Melania Trump’s Press Secretary Stephanie Grisham is perhaps best known for lecturing the media and the public after Melania wore her disgusting “I really don’t care do U” jacket while on her way to visit immigrant children in her husband’s concentration camps. Now Grisham has been officially announced as the new White House Press Secretary.
Interestingly, Grisham will also be taking over as White House Communications Director, a role which has been occupied by numerous people during the Trump regime (Anthony Scaramucci, Hope Hicks, Bill Shine, Mike Dubke, etc) while having been left vacant for long stretches in between their resignations and firings. This means that Grisham is entering her new role with quite a bit of power, at least on paper. This suggests that Trump isn’t simply sticking her in the role because someone has to occupy it, and that he instead plans to put her to extensive use.
We’ll see where this goes. The only thing worse than the Trump White House not having press briefings is when the Trump White House does have press briefings. They’ve always been insulting lie-fests which have served no purpose other than to amplify Trump’s propaganda. The only thing we know going into this is that while Sarah Huckabee Sanders was horrible, Stephanie Grisham is also horrible. Not that we’d expect anything less from this illegitimate fascist regime.
