House Republican Lauren Boebert has “standoff” with Capitol Police over metal detector

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Brand new House Republican Lauren Boebert has only been on the job for about a week, and she’s already being condemned for having tweeted out Speaker Pelosi’s real time location during the U.S. Capitol attack. Now her behavior is becoming more suspect.

The House is now understandably forcing everyone – including House members – to pass through metal detectors in order to gain access to the House chamber. According to Ryan Nobles of CNN, Lauren Boebert was carrying a bag which set off the metal detector, and she ended up in a “standoff” over the bag. Eventually she was allowed into the chamber.

This is notable because Boebert has repeatedly stated her desire to carry a gun with her while on the House floor. Now her bag is setting off metal detectors, and she’s trying to prevent the police from searching her bag. There’s something very wrong with this picture.
