Donald Trump posts bizarre tweet about being a spy

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

In the week since the FBI conducted a raid against his “attorney” Michael Cohen, we’ve seen Donald Trump acting in an even more unhinged manner than ever. That’s included meltdowns on Twitter that have sunk to a whole new low in terms of inappropriateness, viciousness, and semi-coherence. Now Trump seems to be shifting into a phase where he’s unwittingly tipping off things that he’s not supposed to. The tweet he just posted might be one of his most stunning yet.

Here’s what Trump just tweeted, and make sure you focus on the second sentence: “Pastor Andrew Brunson, a fine gentleman and Christian leader in the United States, is on trial and being persecuted in Turkey for no reason. They call him a Spy, but I am more a Spy than he is. Hopefully he will be allowed to come home to his beautiful family where he belongs!” Wait, what?

We know what Trump was trying to say here about Brunson not being a spy. But this isn’t about what Trump was trying to get across. It’s about what he actually said. With each passing day, more evidence confirms that Trump is a Russian puppet who has taken over our government in a manner similar to the Manchurian Candidate. Trump is facing the possibility of being charged with treason or conspiracy against the United States. So when he says something like “I am more a Spy than he is,” it’s eyebrow raising.

Donald Trump has a consistent habit of bringing up oddly specific things about himself just so he can deny them, and often tips off what he’s secretly guilty of having done. So while this tweet is clearly not a flat-out confession, and it’s not something that Robert Mueller can march into court with, Trump’s “I am more a Spy” remark feels a lot like a Freudian slip. Throw in the fact that he clearly thinks a new Trump-Russia bombshell is about to land, and you have to ask why he’s suddenly talking about being a spy. This is too weird.
