Special Master hands Donald Trump a dose of cold hard reality

Dear Palmer Report readers, we all understand the difficult era we're heading into. Major media outlets are caving to Trump already. Even the internet itself and publishing platforms may be at risk. But Palmer Report is nonetheless going to lead the fight. We're funding our 2025 operating expenses now, so we can keep publishing no matter what happens. I'm asking you to contribute if you can, because the stakes are just so high. You can donate here.

Gamesmanship is defined as “the art of winning games by using various ploys and tactics to gain a psychological advantage.” Gamesmanship is what Special Master Raymond Dearie has just accused the Trump team of. The hearing with Dearie and the attorneys is over. It didn’t go well for Donald Trump’s side. This should not be a surprise, although I imagine they were surprised.

Their request for a special master has now come back to bite them in the behind. See, Dearie is someone that Trump doesn’t know how to interact with — a moral person. Trump and morality do not usually get along so well.

Dearie appeared deeply skeptical of the Trump team, and no wonder. It was their bright idea to have a special master, and now they’re not even willing to answer a fundamental question about document classification.

“You can’t have your cake and eat it too.” This is what Dearie reportedly said to the Trump team. He also specifically accused them of “gamesmanship.” And it’s good that he did because gamesmanship is precisely what the Trump team is indulging in — only they’re not winning.

Welcome to reality, Donald Trump! Of course, now the REAL fun begins. Trump will undoubtedly be outraged, but who really cares? His team asked for this, and they got this. And it looks like the “games” just lost bigly.
