Special Counsel Robert Hur, who was tasked with investigating President Joe Biden’s handling of classified documents recently claimed in writing that Biden had a poor memory and couldn’t remember key details such as when his son passed away. Hur’s own corresponding report refuted many of his top line claims. But House Republicans nonetheless thought Hur would make a good witness today. They were very wrong.

Robert Hur – who resigned from the DOJ yesterday – ultimately testified today that President Biden’s memory is just fine. It’s funny how that tends to happen once someone is under oath and under pressure to tell the truth. The transcript of Hur’s interview with Biden was also released, revealing that Biden knew precisely when his son had died, and that Hur had simply been lying about it.

Hur fully humiliated himself during his testimony today, in almost ironic fashion. At one point Hur claimed he couldn’t remember how many people he interviewed during his investigation.

In any case, this is the end of Robert Hur. It’s also yet another disastrous hearing for House Republicans, who just can’t figure out how to move the needle even after having had the House majority for more than a year. And it’s yet another good day for President Joe Biden, who’s in the driver’s seat for 2024.
